Dr. Michael Kryshtalskyj is an oculofacial plastic surgeon at the Morgenstern Center for Orbital & Facial Plastic Surgery in Wayne, Pennsylvania, with clinical expertise across orbit, eyelid, lacrimal, and facial plastic surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2020 after completing his Bachelor of Science at Western University, then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine in 2025, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. Board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), Dr. Kryshtalskyj is also a co-founder of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society Foundation's Eyes on Ukraine Initiative, work that has earned him the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal from the Government of Alberta.

Spoor Memorial Award, given to a single University of Calgary surgical resident each year for the highest standard of patient care, leadership, mentorship, and surgical proficiency, alongside a Humanitarian Award from the Department of Surgery. He was selected to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) Future Leaders' Forum and named to Calgary's Top 40 Under 40 in 2024. His research portfolio spans more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and over 250 citations, with grants awarded in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and investigates ocular trauma, periocular oncology, pediatrics, ptosis, invasive fungal orbital infections, and novel devices that extend oculoplastic care to low-resource settings.
Periocular surgery is as much about helping people feel like themselves again as it is about exacting technique. Whether I am reconstructing after trauma in Wayne or supporting colleagues caring for patients in Ukraine, the goal is the same: precise, compassionate care that gives people back their confidence and their sight.
